Tyler Holloway joined a panel of fellow members of the Philadelphia Advertising Club on October 15 to address a group of about 100 students from various local universities at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.
A featured speaker, Tyler focused his presentation around the latest trends in strategic communications strategy – leveraging real-life, client examples from the projects he’s managed in his role as the leader of Trellist’s Small and Emerging Business Division. The presentation consisted of client case studies that demonstrate the value and process associated with developing and positioning a strong brand as the foundation for a strategic communications strategy.
Following the lecture, Tyler participated in a Q&A panel answering the student’s questions about breaking into the industry. Citing his experiences independently consulting small businesses, managing musical acts, and starting his own nonprofit organization, Tyler shared that these experiences were critical for him to break into the marketing industry and ultimately informed his recommendation to the students:
“Follow your passions by volunteering your talents to local organizations and doing work that is meaningful in your personal lives. This will allow you to build your portfolio, gain experience, and establish credibility until the opportunity to turn these passions into a full-time career presents itself.”
